My man is as close to heaven as one might get without really being there, or so he stated last night! Bonnell's, the best restaurant in the universe, just happened to be hosting a wine dinner the day after Jason's birthday. I thought I was being sneaky by setting the reservation, but they sent him an email confirmation that same day, so he knew it was coming!
First Course:
Lobster Salad in Cantaloupe
Egelhoff 08 Dry Riesling
Second Course:
Pheasant Breast with Country Mushroom Gravy over Butter Beans
Walton 08 Cabernet Sauvignon
Third Course:
Foie Gras and Jalapeno Crusted Tenderloin of Beef over Brabant Potatoes
Egelhoff 05 Cabernet Sauvignon
Fourth Course:
Smoked South Texas Antelope Ribs with Honey Bourbon Glaze and Grilled Watermelon
Egelhoff 06 Cabernet Sauvignon
Fifth Course:

Creme brulee with education on preparation, materials needed, and safety. Then, drumroll please... Chef Bonnell torched a creme brulee at our table, left us two spoons, and wished Jason a happy birthday!!
Good night, honey!
