Burleson Tournament

Or should we call it a Lampoon's weekend vacation? Braden had a baseball tournament this past weekend that was scheduled Friday through Sunday. Instead of driving back and forth an hour each way for three days, we asked Patti and Charles if we could borrow their 5th wheel. They don't know how to say no, so we picked out an RV park close to the baseball fields. It was a wonderful idea for sure. Aside from a few maintenance and housekeeping issues with the RV, we had a marvelous, memory-filled weekend!
Our babysitter and friend, Katie, came along with us for the entire weekend. (Not as a babysitter, but because she really wanted to come.) This was a major help with the kids, as she kept a close eye on them at all times. The RV park had a playground, we brought the scooter, and there was plenty of territory for good hide-n-seek games! Patti and Charles joined us Saturday night, so Jason and I had to give up the cushy king-sized bed upstairs. We traded the bed for a 2 yr old sleeping partner, so Tripp kicked them in the ribs all night!

Maybe we didn't keep good enough tabs on Bones the whole time!! During the last game Sunday, he got into a mud hole. He sat in it and played a while before we realized he had ventured off! The stinker was covered in mud, so we told him he'd just have to dry off like that. All the spare clothes were packed up in the camper, which was in an empty parking lot a few miles away. He didn't mind, so we tried not to let it bother us!!
I feel as if most of this post has been about Tripp. Funny how that works out!! Braden played great! His team is really good, and they played hard in the brutal winds. They won 2 games and lost 2 games. It's amazing to watch the different levels of kids that are all the same age. This last team we lost to just smoked us. You could tell they live and die by their baseball. They were quite passionate, and I do believe it intimidated our boys. Personally, I think it's good for them to get a whoopin' like that every once in awhile. I never was a fan of the over-confident athlete!
Enough for now, gotta go catch up on housework!

Gotta love muddy little boys. Was the wind as bad in Burleson as it was in Granbury? It beat us up all day Saturday at the boys games.
