Speechless

I haven't seen it before, but Landry was speechless yesterday... two times! Her field trip for the North Pole Express train ride was scheduled yesterday at 9:30 a.m. from the Stockyards Station. The kids sang along to Christmas music on the train, and then there was a surprise: Santa Claus got on the train! He came through to shake hands and hug kids, and Landry didn't know what to think about really seeing him! After an hour delay on the train ride (boo for the freight train that extended our trip), we went to eat lunch.

The original plan was to meet my mom at Jason's Deli, then go shopping for Christmas presents. The delay really threw us off, so she came toward the Stockyards and met us at Joe T. Garcia's. As we started eating our food, I caught a glimpse of Santa again. I got Landry's attention, and she couldn't believe her eyes! He came over and talked to her, and you would have thought she was seeing a ghost! He was asking what she wanted for Christmas, and she couldn't even think of one thing. (This is the girl that wrote out two different lists with at least 15 things on each list!) He said he would come back if she wanted to think about it. She watched him move through the restaurant, and she couldn't believe how he could appear in so many different places so quickly. When he came back over, she had gathered some words. She also got to have her picture made with him!

On the ride home, Landry said, "This is the best day of my life!" When I asked her why, she said it was because she got to see Santa 2 times and go shopping at 3 different stores!! More about that shopping trip another time... let's just say that her Nana has taught her well!
