Back in Action

Well, I'm back to the real world of work, work, work!! It was a good day, very busy but as smooth as possible. I felt bad to be welcomed back only to tell everyone that I put in my resignation last week. I forgot how much walking and lifting was involved in a day's work, and my body is exhausted!

We had a strange 3-day weekend. It seemed to start off slow, almost feeling like our time was in slow motion. Of course, I was loving that! Jason and Braden got to go to the Colonial on Sunday. That was Braden's first time to go, and he really enjoyed getting to see all the pro golfers. He got several autographs and Jason noticed quickly that there were perks to having a 6-year old in tow when wanting to get close to the players! Braden got a front row view of Phil Mickelson at the #10 tee box.

Landry did not have such a good day Sunday. She came down with some kind of stomach bug that worsened throughout the day. We got worried about her getting totally dehydrated, so we took her to the ER. They gave her some medicine that worked almost instantly for the nausea and vomiting. We found out that she also has strep throat. Poor baby never complained all day about the vomiting or her throat! She is definitely one tough cookie. She did get a Penicillin shot, but she was so exhausted and dehydrated that she didn't fight it much at all. (Nothing like the immunizations, anyway.) She is starting to perk up, although she really hasn't eaten that much or felt like playing much for the past two days.

Jason is on to a sushi kick. Or should I say that we are on to a sushi kick! We went to our local Japanese restaurant with Sara and Jasen last week and tried some different rolls. Then, we went back last night to try some more. We've not been brave enough to try anything raw, and the one I really like was actually fried so I'm not sure that we could be considered true sushi enthusiasts!! Speaking of Sara and Jasen, we got to spend some good time with them a couple of different days. They are those lifetime friends that you can just really connect with at all times. It doesn't matter if we've talked in the last month or seen each other in several months, it always feels like home when we get to hang out.

I'm off to bed after a long day. It's not so bad doing one, but it may take a bit to get used to doing it 5 days in a row! Jason will be off with the kids starting next week, so there won't be so much prep work for a day during the summer. Until next time...
