Weekend in Grapevine

We had a great weekend in Grapevine. We left last Saturday morning and rode the Polar Express train in downtown Grapevine. The kids had a great time riding miniature horses, jumping in the bounce house, riding the train, and of course they got a picture made with Santa. It was actually a great picture, even if it was $10! We were with Jason's family, so it was our kids with Kayli and Oakley in the picture. We also got to stay at the fabulous Gaylord Texan, which was the first time there for Jason's parents. It is a beautiful place, and Christmas is the best time to go. There is no telling how many poinsettias they have in their atrium!

I was on a mission Saturday afternoon to get a picture of the kids for a Christmas card. With the most beautiful surroundings and backdrops available, the picture just wasn't happening. Landry had her "allergy shiners" that kind of look like a sunburn under the eyes. Braden had spent some time swimming underwater in the hotel pool, so his eyes were continuously watering and burning. On top of that, the kids were just not into the whole picture-taking process!! Now I'm not sure I'm even going to do Christmas cards!! I keep getting them in the mail, which makes me feel guilty, but I'm not feeling the spirit to get busy with it!!

Anyway, back to the weekend. We went to the Ice exhibit on Sunday morning. Talk about amazing! There were ice sculptures with incredible detail and huge in size. The end of the tour was fun for the kids with two giant ice slides for them to go down! It was funny how they were so cold before we found the slides, then all the complaints about the temperatures were muted!

Since then we've been running around doing holiday programs and parties, probably just like most other folks. I still haven't bought a single Christmas gift. I'm not bragging, and I realize that the time is winding down. There will be many gift cards this year coming from under the Karnes tree. I'm adding some pictures from the weekend:
