Breakfast birthday

Braden had a great birthday party Saturday. Jason had a great idea to do it in the morning! The house was cleared out by noon, and we all got to take a great afternoon nap. He had such a sweet turnout of kids at his party. It seems year by year there have been more "little people" come to the birthday parties, and this year there might have been more kids than adults! We were confined to the house and the front porch due to the saturating rains, but the kids had all had a great time. The pictures I'm posting come from Kayci's new 8 megapixel camera!!

We had a tragedy in our church yesterday. One of the band members was killed in a car accident on his way back to Stephenville after church. Chas was only 21 years old. He was one of those kids who was full of life, always smiling, always positive. He was one of Jeremy's youth kids when he was at the church in Dallas, and he started playing with the StoneWater Band when the church started. Chas was going to Tarleton, but he had dreams to move on to a recording school to have a career in his music. Please pray for his parents and sister.
Life is hard to take sometimes. Your instinct is to ask why, but you just have to know that there is a purpose behind these things. It sure makes me want to appreciate the moment. I feel like I spend way too much time blowing through the day trying to get stuff done that I don't "stop and smell the roses." It's hard not to be in that mode. I'm out for now, off to enjoy my first real holiday of the year!!
