Just Kidding

I guess I spoke to soon on Thursday. I blogged before Braden had gotten up. He complained of a bad sore throat as soon as he woke up. Jason drove to school to arrange for a sub, and Braden came to work with me for a couple of hours. We borrowed a friend's little TV/VCR combo and he was content watching a movie in my office until Jason made it back from Godley. The strep test came back positive so he is taking an antibiotic more valuable than gold. I say that because we have not received our insurance cards yet with the new company, so we paid out of pocket for the prescription. $162.99 for a bottle of Omnicef. The pharmacy assured us we could get reimbursed if we supplied them with the list of ID#'s that they need to file it with the new insurance. Now Landry woke up this morning complaining that her ear hurts... yes, the infamous left ear. She had complained once a few days ago, but it didn't seem warranted at the time to do anything about it. You see, she has a lot of complaints during a day, so call me neglectful for not taking her seriously every time! Now, we've got a prescription called in for her, and maybe the insurance will go through this time!

Time for a happy story, well, at least a funny one. The kids are working hard on their table manners these days. They did so good last night, and both remembered to ask to be excused! Braden was carrying his bowl to the sink when he dropped it on the tile. It broke into many pieces and the leftover soup splattered across the floor. He kept his feet planted where they were, turned back to us and said, "Hmm, didn't see that comin'." Jason and I couldn't hold it in, it was just one of those funny moments of matter-of-fact 4-year-old response!

With all that said, it IS the weekend. Nana (Jason's mom) stayed here with the kids yesterday since Braden couldn't go back to school yet. She caught up our laundry and cooked enough food for us to have all weekend... or more! That means I got to come home and flop, which I really needed. I crashed on the couch and then woke up to drag myself to bed at 10:30. Thank you, Nana!!
