We had an awesome weekend! Busy, but fun! Friday night, I went to Dallas with some of the running group. We stopped in Fort Worth to eat at Pei Wei! After staying the night at a "friend of a friend's" house, we all did the 10K at 7 a.m. Saturday morning. Our team got 23rd place which was impressive since there were all these corporate teams entered. The race was at the Arboretum and around White Rock Lake in Dallas, very beautiful!
From there, I went to a scrub shop in Ft. Worth and spent money out of my "professional choice account" at work. I now have 8 new scrub sets! Jason had gone to the A&M game at this point, so I headed to his mom's to pick up the kids. We traveled straight from there to watch my niece (Becca) play in a volleyball tournament in Stephenville. She did great, and it was so fun to watch her play. Sometimes I forget how FUN those school sports were! Both kids fell asleep in the car on the way home, so I got an early bedtime Saturday! Of course, I needed it because my body was exhausted!
Sunday held church, house cleaning, laundry, and a Pampered Chef party... Whew!
Kid stories: When we were out to eat Saturday night, Landry had to go to the potty. I wish they didn't have to use public restrooms because of the germ factor, but it's like they immediately "have to go" when we are in a public place. Anyway, Landry was sitting on the potty and put her hands on the seat. I said, "Baby, put your hands in your lap." She said, "But I'll fall in there!"
Braden's story is adorable. I was combing his hair after his bath last night. He was dressed in his new Superman pajamas, admiring himself in the mirror. As I'm combing, I see his eyes go into focus as he strategically gathered some hairs and pulled them down to his forehead. "Are you wanting your hair to look like Superman's?" "YES!" I got out the gel and made a Superman curl in the front. Jason saw it and totally played it up. He proceeded to lift Braden up one-handed and fly him around the house as Superman (humming the Superman theme the whole time). It was great: Braden was lit up from head to toe, Landry was chasing them around and laughing, and I was leaning against the wall just savoring the moment. I wish I could freeze-frame time!
