So much has happened since my last post that I could write a book! Jason's Granny had been in the hospital for about a week. She is home now and doing much better. Jason and Braden took a "guys only" trip to the Cats game before Father's Day. Landry and I hung out that particular night and had a ball! I went from being a sub in a basketball league to being one of the five that actually shows up! I'm telling you, it's been a fun summer!
I've officially reset my alarm to 6 a.m. now. It took about two weeks of me turning it off at 5:20 that I just wasn't getting up that early this summer! We're staying up too late and running around too much to be getting up during any part of the five o'clock hour! Jason is doing more laundry, cooking, and childcare than he probably would like, but I think he would say his summer is going well, too.
We had a big scare this afternoon. Jason was weedeating and I was mowing with Landry in my lap. I ran over a stump and bent the mower blade, so Jason asked the neighbor to fix it. While the mower was shut off, I went to find Braden. Couldn't find him inside or outside. Usually not a major problem, right. As I walked back outside, I was going to head across the street to see if Jason knew where Braden was. That's when I heard him... inside Jason's pickup. He was red as a beet and dripping wet. He had gotten in and couldn't get out. That's one of those frightening parent moments that makes your heart sink down to your stomach. He's fine now. After a cool shower, some water, and a popsicle, he's running around like nothing happened. That's my biggest fear in the world: something bad happening to one of our kids.
