Fondue it!

What a day! We started with an early morning Christmas with the Marshes. It was a great breakfast followed by the exciting gift opening by 3 kiddos! Braden was wide-eyed about each gift saying, "this is awesome, that is so cool..." Landry got a Little Tykes kitchen from Nana and Pa-paw, and she has loved it already.

We had some friends over for dinner tonight. We had wanted to have them over for a long time, but never got around to it. We were trying to clean house, decide what to cook, get the kids their naps, yadda yadda yadda. Well, Jason decided on fondue and sent me to the store to get stuff. What happened while I was at Wal-Mart? Jason discovered that our little potty princess has been stuffing things in the toilet again. It was stopped up in a bad way. This would usually not be a big deal, but we had company coming over. You know, sometimes when you are cleaning house, you put all the stray stuff in one room until you can deal with it. That was us today. Our end of the house was a wreck, but we can shut that off and nobody would know. Ooops! Potty girl was in trouble with daddy! This caused a mad dash to clean our end of the house and get it presentable for company. Darn it.

Michelle and Bo were real sports about dinner. They got to the house right on time- 5:30- but we were just starting to cook! Michelle helped cut stuff up, set stuff out, while Bo played with the kids. We did finally have dinner served and it was wonderful. Great idea by Jason. We had pepper jack first with bread and apples. Then the main course, then the chocolate fondue. Mmm! Bananas, strawberries, and angel food cake to dip in the chocolate. Good stuff! The kids enjoyed the company almost as much as we did, and Bo was great to play with all the new kitchen stuff until we had dinner ready. What a great night!
