Work to do

I've got a challenge ahead of me. My first day at the new job was pretty hectic. I can see that there is a lot of work to do to get things running at a higher level. But, I knew that coming in to it, so it's time to get going!

Jason was great yesterday. I had a sweet note in my van when I left in the morning, and then he and the kids were waiting in the parking lot when I was done. They said they wanted to go out to eat! Wonder who's idea that was? So, we went to Golden Corral- Braden's choice- and had a nice family dinner (even though Landry could be heard clear across the resaurant with loud requests for another bite or just for my attention). It was great for me to unwind there without having to go home and cook and clean up a mess. This was one of my seldom non-frugal moments where I didn't think about the money it cost to go out!

Whitney called when we got home to let us know that our cookie dough (school fundraiser) was in, and they were wanting us to come play 42. My initial reaction was "no, I've got some stuff to look over and need to get ready for the next day". I bet you already know that this thought got reversed into, "well, we could go over there for a little while, and the kids need to see them anyway." Oh yes, our goal was to leave at 8:00 sharp... we pulled out of there driveway at 8:53. As Ron White would say- Close! We had a great time, and I can't complain about the time we left because me and Kinsey kept winning, so we had to keep playing! I guess that competitive drive just never goes away!
