"I didn't like my tent"

This is what Braden said at about 5:45 p.m. yesterday. In the morning we drove up to Fort Worth to go visit a church that has an awesome children's ministry. We were thinking of modeling StoneWater's Camp Stepping Stone (for kids) after this one. Their service is held in a school, and the kids get the gym. They had at least ten different tents for the kids of each age. The nursery babies and toddlers even had a tent. When we got there, Braden loved it, he played and ran around in the gym. Landry, too. Then, they figured out that mom and dad were going to head off to big church. Braden was upset, so I had Jason talk to him while I took Landry to the toddler's area. I came back, and Braden had gone from bad to worse. We weren't going to make him stay, so I took him out in the hall. In his sobs, he asked where Landry was, and he insisted that he needed to check on her. We went to check on her and she was crying, too! So, I rescued them both. We played in the hall for a bit, then we jumped in the van and went to fill up with gas and go through the car wash. Braden really didn't say anything about it until the evening. I guess he was daydreaming about the tents, and he wanted to make sure we knew he didn't like them!

Lisa, Joey, and their son Caden (almost 6) rode up there with us. Braden loves playing with Caden. Landry named Lisa "Nonna". She actually likes Lisa. She'll smile at her, even let Lisa hold her. I told Lisa that she should feel very priveleged! When Braden said his prayers last night he thanked God for all the usuals, then for Jenna, Misti, and Lisa. Lisa was mentioned 3 times, so she must have scored some points with everyone yesterday.

I love the weekends! I love getting the extra time with Jason and the kids. I love making coffee on Saturday morning and hanging out in my gown. I love for Landry to pull me up by my shirt asking for a snack. I love to pitch Braden (soft) baseballs in the living room. He's still hitting left-handed by the way. I love to send Jason out to the little store to get me some Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. I love it all, I could go on and on!
