We had a seldom occurrence of all the Emmons (that's my side) kids being in the same place at the same time yesterday. Josh and Becca were not able to be there (soccer), but everyone else made it. We had a good time- a lot of baby watching, eating, swimming, etc. Tracy makes this peach cobbler that is absolutely out of this world. I think I dreamed of swimming in her cobbler last night. The big kids- adults- played a couple games of volleyball in the pool. Surprisingly, the deep-enders won a game!
I'll have to check with Brianna or Debbie, but Braden included in his prayers last night, "Thank you for Brianna to put me in jail in Mimi's room" ???? Who knows! I love their imaginations. Braden always goes to hunt the bears as soon as we get there. If Grace is there, she goes with him. Sometimes I'm not sure they are pretending as much as we think they are! Braden also had to do a little singing performance with the microphone. He's really become quite a ham!
Landry has really melted my heart the past few nights when I put her to bed. When I used to sing "Jesus Loves Me" she would let me hold her like a baby, and she'd just suck her thumb as I sang. Now, she wants to be held up at my eye level. She sways back and forth (she's going to be a good Aggie) as I sing, and she'll nod her head as if she knows the words and she is encouraging me. Toward the end of the song, she'll lay her head down on my shoulder. She's not fussing anymore when I lay her down. Thankfully, that was a very quick phase we passed through.
Sometimes I wish I could capture certain moments on video or audio, or just have them permanently recorded in my brain. I better go for the audio/video, because not much stays for the long-term between my ears anymore!
