Redneck party

Just a joke of course, it probably wasn't a true redneck party. We went over to Jason's aunt and uncle's house (Tim and Peggy) last night for hamburgers and to let the kids play. You see Peggy has a pool with a slide... she got it for $3 on clearance last year. Needless to say, the kids have gotten their use out of it! We invited Misti and the kids over, too. After we ate, we let the kids jump in the pool. Kayli (our niece) has been sick and couldn't swim, so Tim decided to move the trampoline from the back to the front yard for her. He drug it around with the lawnmower! About 5 minutes later, we found Landry standing in the seat of the lawnmower! I guess they decided since sis wanted to ride, that they'd go hook up the wagon to the back of the lawnmower. All the kids loved that. I'm sure that Landry would have fallen asleep if we'd left her in there just a few more minutes. We ended up playing charade games till too late, but it sure was a lot of fun. The kids are real troopers for stuff like that. They've been spoiled this summer of getting to sleep in to recover from a late night, too. When Jason goes back to school, we'll have to reinforce the early bedtimes... for all of us!

We had a great Saturday. We slept in, then made a pot of coffee. Jason was doing some work outside, so I took the kids to Wal-Mart to replenish our supplies. They have those buggies that have two seats in the front for the kids, and they actually had one available on a Saturday. Don't get me wrong, they are great for space inside the basket. It's just that Braden has figured every which way to aggravate Landry. They are designed so that the kids face each other and have to share foot space... YIKES! Every time Landry would growl, I'd look town and Braden had a new tactic of aggravating her. Finally, I said, "OK, just don't touch each other." This lady on the aisle with me couldn't help laughing (and I don't blamer her, it sounded ridiculous). About 45 seconds later, Braden is giving Landry a suffocating hug as she protests. I told him to back off. He said, "but everyone needs hugs, they feel so good"! Oh my! He's got it all figured out doesn't he!

Well, we made it out of Wal-Mart by noon, just in time to get home for lunch and naps. I did my bible study while they napped, and then I took a nap myself! I'm not sure I could ask for much more than this! Once everyone got up, we headed over to Peggy's house... and the rest is history.
