We're in!

We've moved in and somewhat settled into our home! Who knew that selling and buying a house would grow someone's faith so much, but this sure has done the trick! There were times that something would look impossible, but God continued to remind us that he had it all under control. Our process started on July 1, when we got an offer on our home in Tolar. July was packed with real estate duties on both the buying and selling end.

We had great fun "shopping" for houses, which started online and with the awesome Realtor.com app on the Ipad. By the time we signed the contract for Tolar, we had narrowed our search to about 8 houses in Pecan Plantation, DeCordova, and Godley. We referred to the houses by their street name, which has forever pegged this house as "The Mission House."

In the end, we decided on DeCordova for various reasons. We really wanted a 4-bedroom, and many of the 4 bedrooms have massive square footage and quite a large price tag. We feel like we got a good buy on this home, and the price range was more responsible than some of the others we looked at. We didn't want to be "house poor" or feel like everything we made was going toward our mortgage. Also, DeCordova has tons of things for the all of us to do: golf, swimming, lake, tennis, etc. The geographical location is wonderful for both me and Jason heading to work each morning. We have cut about 20-25 minutes off our commute each way! Do the short math and that's almost an hour a day! Last, but certainly not least, my dad and step-mom have a house out here on the lake. It's always been important to me for our kids to be close to their grandparents because I never really got to be around mine very much. Now, they are a short golf cart ride away from Papa and Gram!

My goal is to post pictures room-by-room of what we've done so far with the house. We've had fun finding furniture and decor together since we had sold or given away the furniture we had in Tolar. Jason has a hidden decorating talent that obviously comes from his mom. He came up with the idea to use the formal dining area as a sitting room rather than a rarely-used formal dining. Most people vote it as their favorite room!

We are thankful and grateful to be here. We certainly feel blessed beyond measure and are excited for a fresh start! We would love to have anyone come see us out here, so please give us a call!
