Another Good One

I read a great book this weekend, Safely Home, by Randy Alcorn. It's a realistic fiction on the persecution of Christians in China. Good story, great message! This one was recommended several months ago by my brother-in-law, Scott. He is a missions pastor in Weatherford, and after reading these recent books I can see why he would choose that path! How much closer can you get to seeing the face of Jesus up close than to go and serve the ones who don't have everyday opportunities to hear the gospel!

Can you imagine not being able to get your hands on a bible? God's word is so precious to them that they memorize whatever parts of the bible they get to read because they are not sure when they can access one again! How many do we have in our house? Probably at least 5, then 5 more of the new testament-only version. Between this book and Chris's sermon Sunday, I'm more motivated than ever to turn the pages of my bible and soak it in!
