Summer Is Here

The kids finished school on Thursday, and Jason had his last day on Friday. Braden was awarded with a trophy for A-honor roll for the entire year! Landry was so disappointed to miss the award for perfect attendance for the entire year- she missed one day of school all year!! Braden also got "Wildcat Kid" for his class for the 6th six weeks! Fun stuff.

Now, we welcome the summer break. Unfortunately, Jason has learned all too quickly that his new school endeavor will not allow him much of a break. I'm not sure if I've blogged that he is doing the principal certification program through Tarleton for the next 18 months. The schedule and expectations are quite overwhelming right now, but I know he will do great! With his leadership abilities and love for education, he will make an awesome principal!

Landry has swimming lessons this week with Ms. Louise. I'm afraid we won't be able to do gymnastics this summer because they did not have enough kids sign up for her 3:30 class to make. She will have plenty of swim outings, and she is hoping for a few sleepovers too!

Braden will be playing baseball for most of June. I woke up this morning at 4 a.m. to the sound of the TV in the living room. Braden had woken up and turned on cartoons! Yikes, we need to go over the summer sleep-in schedule!! Of course, I sent him back to bed, but I could NOT go back to sleep... URGH!

Tripp is part-time potty training. He does great at home. However, the practicality of potty training while running around to baseball games and such is a little out of reach for this stage of the game. What I'm saying is, mom is not giving it her full attention! He is talking all the time, now in complete sentences about anything that crosses his little mind (and may I add that there is a lot that crosses his little mind)!

I suppose that is enough of an update for now! Better get ready for those swimming lessons!

Sounds like a great summer plan! We need to try to get together this summer. It's been way too long.
