Runner-Up

It's been a while since there's been something to celebrate in 7U Pirate-World, but here you go! Braden's baseball team got runner-up in the Alvarado tournament this past weekend. It was a dramatic finish, with the boys running out of gas in the last game. We were all incredibly proud of them for being tough in some serious heat and humidity. They played 3 games back-to-back on Saturday, and one of the boys had to go to the hospital for dehydration. They are playing in games against older boys this summer, so they did a great job to get second place!

Our little Tripp has been sick since Friday night. We don't know if he has a stomach bug or if the antibiotic is tearing up his gut, but he is definitely not right in his tummy! Jason has made camp in our master closet to get his schoolwork done. Trust me, our closet is big enough to house an office, so don't think he's in cramped quarters!
I just finished another good book: South of Broad by Pat Conroy. It is set in Charleston, South Carolina, written by a man that has lived his entire life in Charleston. It's a good story, and it was fun to read about many familiar things after having visited the Grahams there twice. I also finished The Help on audio, and that is a great book! Hard to imagine how much our society has changed in the last 50 years!
