Underdogs Win!

We had great fun Saturday morning at Braden's T-ball game. Because we were having his birthday party at the park immediately following the game, he had quite a cheering section along the left field fenceline! This was their first game in the post-season tournament. Our little Red Sox were seeded #7 against the Pirates at #2. You know that phrase, "That's why they play the game." Perfect example because nobody thought we had a chance to beat the Pirates, BUT we did!! The last play involved a wonderful infield play from our shortstop to Braden at 1st base. It was the 3rd out of the inning, and we were so excited to get 3 outs that I wasn't sure if we had actually won. I knew we were tied going in to that inning, but they had gotten 3 outs as well. I saw the official scorer finally point to the Red Sox dugout as the winner, and I was so excited! Understand that we only won 2 games all season, so we didn't have much of a taste for winning. Then, to win the big one was SO exciting!

Braden has been asked to play in a summer league, and I'm afraid I'll have to eat my words on this one. I didn't even think it was going to be an option because we always thought this age was a little young to do anything "extra." But after we talked about it with several different people we've decided to let him do it. He REALLY wants to play, of course! It's quite a time commitment, especially for those of us who like to have margin in our lives!

All else is well. The kids even went swimming a couple of times this weekend! Yes, the water was FREEZING, but they didn't even act like it bothered them. We are enjoying this Memorial Day holiday with a much needed day of nothing!
