Just to let you in on the latest news:
Braden took a reading test yesterday called the DRA. He scored a 16, which is great for his age. 18 is considered entry-level to 2nd grade!! The tests evaluates fluency, accuracy, comprehension, etc. and it seems he passed with flying colors! He has another loose tooth on the top right. The "green tooth" is still holding strong and stable, of course. That is the one he killed when he landed literally tooth-first on the gym floor in preschool. It has been a yucky green color ever since! Braden also has a birthday coming up next week. His main concern is to be able to swim on his birthday, so I'm afraid he'll have a cold swim if it doesn't heat up any more than it has so far! He is also winding up his T-ball season. Their team has not recorded a win in several weeks, but they still seem to be having fun. Braden still asks after the game if they won, but his disappointment doesn't last too long once he realizes it was another loss. He is such a good kid, he really makes me proud!
Landry is great! She is so independent, creative, and free-spirited. She loves to sing and dance in the living room when the rest of us are trying to watch American Idol. SHE wants to be the idol! We are going to sign her up for gymnastics starting in June. She has been asking for awhile, so summer will be the perfect time to get her to her classes. She had her dentist check-up this morning and was seriously anxious about it all morning. I told her there would be no shots, and the dentist was just going to take some pictures and clean her teeth. When we went back there he was doing a filling on a teenage boy and Landry's eyes about popped out of her head when she saw/heard the drill. It took some convincing to get her up in that chair, but she was really brave and good for the dentist. I have totally enjoyed having all this extra time with her since I've been off work; she makes me smile a million times each day.
Tripp is growing like a weed. He goes for his 2-month checkup tomorrow. He is smiling a lot and trying to laugh. His cooing is absolutely precious. The best time to see all this is right after he eats. He'll just smile and "talk", and it makes you act like a baby just talking back to him! He must be the most loved baby in the entire world. His eyes are still blue and his hair is growing in darker than I expected. His right cheek has a sweet little dimple, and he has a double chin now. In many ways, I think I have appreciated him more than the other two as babies. I don't mean that to sound bad, it's just that I know how fast they grow up and change that I have really soaked up every moment possible. He has few nicknames so far: T-bone, T-dog, Tripper, Trippster, Buddy, Little Bubba.
That's a wrap for now. Stay tuned.
