Incentive

I never thought our daughter was one to work so hard for a reward. Any of you who know Landry know that she sucks her thumb. It started when she was just a few days old, but now she's 3 years old and it's driving Jason up the wall! So what else would a daddy do but make a deal with her!! He came out of her room last Sunday night and said, "I just made a deal with our daughter!" He told her if she goes 7 consecutive days without sucking her thumb he'll buy her a 4-wheeler. They make the little Power Wheels Barbie cars and Hummers and Jeeps, but then there is the 4-wheeler. It looks just like a real one, but it's made out of plastic and runs on battery. Landry got to ride one at a birthday party a few weeks ago, and that is all she talked about for days! She made it from Sunday to Thursday, but got a note home from preschool that she sucked her thumb a little that day. Oh yes, we have all kinds of surveillance on her! She is doing incredibly well, and she is even going to sleep without the thumb! She keeps saying, "I know I can do it!" Talk about will power. Anyway, that's the big news from our house this week!

Braden had another soccer game Saturday. It was terribly hot, but that didn't keep him from having fun! He scored 4 goals and had a good grandparent fan club going on! We laughed that a couple of the goals were kicks that happened to deflect off of his body before going in the goal! It still counts as his though, right? He's having tons of fun with it, and that's what matters to us!
