Our camping trip was great! We got there just in time to get set up before dark, did the traditional roasting marshmallows for s'mores, then me and sis headed for bed! I was happy to use the excuse to go to bed early- I need to go lay down with Landry! She and I had the air mattress in the back of the van, and Jason and Braden had an air mattress in the tent. We were all pretty comfortable. Everyone slept till about 7:00 and Jason cooked up a good campfire breakfast. Braden probably had the most fun. Caden was there and they did all kinds of exploring!
Landry had an injury when we got home. We had just gotten out of the shower and she was standing in front of the bathroom drawer that Braden had just slung open. It hit her square in the ear; she cried and cried and cried some more. Jason finally got her calmed down enough for us to look at it, and it was bleeding from the inside. We don't know if she busted her eardrum or what. All day she'd point to her right ear and say "hurt". My poor baby and her ears!
The kids and I drove to Stephenville after naps and made the rounds. Both kids were brave enough to pet Josie- Brianna's horse that is temporarily at Mimi's house. We toured my sister's new house that is being constructed very quickly! Then, off to Papa and Gram's for supper and more playing. Jason had stayed home to watch the Aggies and take care of unpacking/laundry from the camping trip. I think we got the better deal because the Aggies got hammered by Iowa State... and there was a lot of laundry to do!!
If you notice my post time for this blog, just go ahead and laugh. Yes, I reminded about 10 people this week/weekend to set their clocks back, but evidently we forgot to do it last night. I left my alarm set to my normal weekday setting because I wanted to have some quiet time before rushing off to church. Well, I should get plenty of time since I really woke up at 4:20 instead of 5:20! Sounds to me like a good excuse to get a nap this afternoon!
