Heels

Not the body part. This is what Jason and I felt like last night. You see, he is going on a big rock climbing venture with some of his friends. We had asked his sister to keep the kids this morning, then I am getting off work at noon to come get them. Since Jason is leaving early, they were just going to spend the night at Nana's. I wish we had known more about what was going on. Patti is taking some kind of big test at work today. Braden usually sleeps with them, but when we found out about the test, we thought it would be best to not have him in the bed with her, but in a separate room. So, mistake number one was probably just not bringing the kids back home. Braden and Landry were going to sleep in Kayli's room, which pushed Kayli up to her mom's bed. We had a really hard time getting the kids to sleep. They cried and Braden talked about wanting to sleep with Nana. When Jason came out of the room and said they were asleep I just cringed. Silly me forgot to have him go potty before going to bed, and he had a sprite (the whole thing) at supper time! We went and got him up to go to the potty and Pa-paw laid him back down (Pa-paw laid with him). Jason and I hung around outside the door to make sure there weren't any kid noises. We were whispering about how bad we felt and decided if we heard one more peep, we'd take them home. It's an awful feeling to feel that you have inconvenienced someone, but we had inconvenienced the entire household. We really felt bad. I'm hoping the kids act like little angels today. I will feel even more terrible if Kayci has a hard morning with them. So, that's our big saga. Jason felt the worst because he just wanted to go do something fun with the guys.

We talked about maybe doing something tonight or going somewhere as our last outing before school starts. Jason really wants to take Braden to play Putt-Putt, so we'll see. I told him that they could drop me and Landry off at the mall while they go play. It is tax-free weekend! I'll try to have a funner blog tomorrow!
