Summer showers

We actually got a few afternoon showers in big Tolar today. It didn't amount to anything, but it did wet the ground a little bit. The kids played out in the rain while Pa-paw came and picked up his mower and some of the tools we have been "borrowing". We did finally buy our own riding lawnmower- a used one from our neighbor.

Misti and I ate lunch at Schlotsky's which was great food, but not the best choice. Too expensive for us frugal girls. It's great to have a budget-minded friend. We had a great time talking, then went over to Wal-Mart for a few things. Isn't it funny how "a few things" always turns into at least a $50 trip at that place!!

We had a relaxing afternoon at home. Jason was gone golfing with the boys. Me and the kids just played. No TV, no computer, just us. Actually we spent a good deal of time in Landry's closet. Sounds funny, but we do have really big closets. I read them books, we built with blocks, gave horsey rides, etc. Landry was feeling much better today, and that put us all in a better mood. She gave me a spontaneous kiss today, which she hasn't done in several days. Jason had even been threatening (teasing of course) to send her to charm school if she didn't shape up!

The evening held a Pampered Chef party hosted by Jason's cousin, Kinsey. That is the best kitchen stuff. Of course, I bought a few things, but the fun of the party was watching Landry ham it up with her Pa-paw Frog. She has really been flirting with him lately and giving him extra attention. We all decided last night that it's because he's been sharing his secret bag of Krispy Kreme donuts with her! She'll go behind his chair and come around the side saying "Ba-paw" and "boo". Braden hung out at the party for a few minutes, but he ended up going with Tim to his volleyball game. Tolar has a little adult co-ed league. Braden ended playing with some of the other kids there. He didn't want to come home with me, but Tim backed me up and said he needed to come with momma! Thanks for the help!

What a great day. Braden thanked God for going to Tim's house and for playing with the sword. (One of the kids at the gym had a little plastic sword that he shared) Isn't life simply sweet.
