The Last Supper

We had a feast last night at the in-laws'. It started out with the intention of having a supper for mine and Bryon's birthdays. I guess over the week, people got hungrier and hungrier. Here's what we had: sausage, steak, chicken, shrimp, ribs, baked potatoes, corn, bread, salad, fruit, German chocolate cake, chocolate pie...
I'm sure I left something out. It was great food and great fun! We had another washer match. Everyone partnered up, and we lost in the finals to Bryon and Kayci. Everyone had a lot of fun.

Charles wanted to take all the grandkids swimming in the afternoon, so we went over to Jenny's pool. He was really proud to have all of them together at the same time.

Braden was such a good boy yesterday. We talked to him on the way home that we were really proud of his good manners and good behavior. When I said, "You are such a good boy, " he said, "I sure am." Landry was being sweet with her hugs last night. She has been giving extra sugar to Pa-paw lately, but she was sharing her love with the whole bunch. She actually went out to the suburban with Granny and Pa-paw and acted like she wanted to go home with them. I guess she may end up being like her brother in that sense. He loves to go and spend the night with pretty much anyone who offers!

Landry is saying many new words. I was starting to get worried about her speech again since this last ear infection, but she is saying some new things. She said "cheese" last night when I took her picture. She says "go" just as plain as I say it, and she knows when we are about to go. If I am putting my shoes on, she starts guarding the door because she wants to make sure she is going too. Mimi sent a postcard from Montana with a big bear on it and she said "cow". We got a little laugh out of that.

Cheers to a day of rest!
