Beauty rest

I should look like a princess today, because I got some seriously good sleep last night. I laid down at 9:37 and must have been asleep by 9:38. I was excited when I had to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and it was only 11:00. My quick math told me I still had 6 hours of sleep coming my way! WHOOP!

I went to Kohl's yesterday and spent my birthday gift card. I was impressed with my shopping skills: I got three shirts for $24.87 on a $25 gift card. Jason asked if I told them to keep the card since it just had 13 cents on it. No way, I got the change!! My next "want" is a pair of shoes, which shouldn't be news to anyone. A girl at work has some. The brand is called Diesel. They are very different and very expensive. I looked on the internet for some knock-off brands or cheaper prices, but I may just have to wait a while for those shoes!

We went out to the Marsh compound for supper. Jason's sister made chicken and dumplings yesterday. She also kept the kids yesterday afternoon. It's so nice to have good in-laws... and I'm not brown-nosing. I am really thankful that Jason had such a close and loving family growing up because it sure helped him become a good man who knows how to love his wife and kids.

Speaking of kids...When I got to Nana's yesterday, they were playing in the backyard. Braden came running to me as if he had really missed me. I usually don't get that reaction when they are at any of the grandparents' house. Sometimes, I feel like he'd just rather stay with them all the time. Who could blame 'em though! Landry Beth immediately wanted to come see me. I held her while Braden hit the plastic baseball. Then, Landry went to the trampoline. We'll have to video it sometime. She likes to run full speed toward the edge, like a little Kamikaze baby. I think there's something to all that birth order stuff. She is quite the daredevil, and Braden is Mr. Cautious.

Braden showed off his knowledge to Nana and Pa-paw. Jason has been reading him the story of David and Goliath. Braden will tell you that David threw a rock and hit the Giant in the forward head, and God helped David. David took care of the sheep and he ended up being King. Pretty good, huh? I love "forward head"! Sometimes he corrects himself and says forehead, but I like it better when he doesn't.

Off for a half day's work.
