Birthday Girl

Each of our children will get a Momma-Daddy date this year for their birthdays. Today is Landry's 8th birthday, and we took her to the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas for afternoon tea.

We started with the following sandwiches: smoked turkey, open-faced cucumber, tomato with balsamic reduction, egg salad, and curry chicken. Don't miss the beautiful strawberries! The tea with this course was African Amber, and it was our favorite!

The second course was our favorite in the way of food: Golden raisin scones with Devonshire cream and raspberry jam. Mmmm! Wow, I have never had butter or jam that good! The tea was Orange Jasmine.

Dessert was the following: Passion fruit cake, lemon mousse, cream pie, and strawberry torte. The tea with this course was Pear Caramel.

We were served tea cakes upon arrival and truffles at the end. I think you would definitely classify this as High Tea!

Landry received colorful mini-moon pies to complete our date!

The pianist played Happy Birthday for Landry during our dessert course! We went to see him afterward and he played her a Beethoven piece... She felt like a princess all afternoon!

Nana, Pa-paw, and the boys gave Landry some balloons and flowers when we got home. Of course, Nana and Pa-paw picked the boys up from school and towed them around while we were socializing in Big D!
