Braden and the Pirates are officially the USSSA 8U-AA State Champions!! We had a weekend of hot, windy baseball in Grand Prairie. Braden told Jason at our breakfast Sunday morning that he was giving him a championship for Father's Day! They did it too; the boys showed up and played great ball, winning all 5 games in 100+ degree heat!
There was quite a highlight for us as Braden's number one fans... He hit a homerun in the championship game! We were sitting under a shade canopy in right-center field and he hit the ball directly over our heads and into the parking lot!! Jason and I both thought we might catch it, but it sailed over us by a mile. Well, maybe not a mile, but it was way out of our reach! The championship game was close all the way, and we had last bat in a tie game. The first two batters got out, and the third batter (Caleb) hit it over the left field fence! Can you believe that! Last inning, two outs, tie game... Homerun- every boy's dream!

that is SO AWESOME! way to go, pirates! i think these boys will make amazing varsity players someday! :)
