The Kindle

I am the proud owner of a Kindle. I tag myself as a frugal person, but this is an exception to the rule. It is hard for me, and women in general (I think), to accept a nice gift. We want to give and give and give to others. However, we have a hard time receiving something. Jason prefaced his purchase by saying something like, "Now I want to get you something and I don't want to hear anything about not needing to spend the money. I want you to pick the exact one that you want, not the cheaper one." Something inside of me just totally accepted that I was not only going to get a Kindle, but the big-screen version to boot!

Here's the skinny... It's an Amazon.com product. You can buy any book for $9.99 or less. You can purchase the book wirelessly from the Kindle itself, or from any computer using your amazon account. The entire book is downloaded in 60 seconds. The Kindle has handy features (like ability to adjust font size), text-to-speech option, crazy-big storage (3,600 books), and easy navigation of the book.

I'm going to keep the blog updated with my current reading material on the layout to the right. If anyone has any suggestions of a book, please feel free to recommend. My weakness is that I need to become a better critic; I like most of the books I read. One of my patients even accused me of being a "fellow bibliophile." She was so excited to hear of my love for reading that she has shared half-a-dozen audiobooks to listen to during all my driving for work!

Better get in there to read. I've got to see if Bluet is going to make it out of Russia... Sara knows the ending but please don't tell!

The most important question: Are you enjoying Russian Dance???

Gonna think about some of my favorite books. Oh, I love Somerset Maugham. "Razor's Edge."
