Field Day '09

Landry and me.

We had a great day playing outside at Godley Elementary Field Day today. Landry and the rest of Pre-K came out first and then Braden came out later with Kindergarten. They had a bounce house, horseshoes, water balloon toss, sack races, throwing games, and an obstacle course. The kids had a blast and I did too. After they played at all of these stations they had a tug-o-war between the classes. Braden and Landry each won first with their classes. I did my best to get my class to win during the second grade pull, but we were beat in the finals and came in second place. We were going for the Karnes' sweep but were denied in the final tug. Thanks Robyn!
After the games were all over, all of the teachers came outside for an egg-toss. I always team up with the other guy that I teach with. We have a lot of fun with it each year. We probably wound up 40 yards or more apart before finally breaking the egg. After the egg-toss we were attacked with water balloons by teachers, parents, and students. We got a little wet, but it all made for a great day. A lot of times we get dragged down with the same old routine, but it is so awesome to get out of the classroom and play and laugh together. It was refreshing.

I keep saying it, and sticking by it, it's the only time having Ben and Alex all year has paid off!
