Spring Break

Well, it's Spring Break week... perfect timing for Jason and Braden to be off with us! Tripp had his check up on Friday and he is now 8 lbs. The doctor said he looks great, no concerns. It was quite an adventure because all three kids got seen by the doctor. Landry got her immunizations, and Braden had come down with another sore throat the night before! Turns out that he has strep throat again, and the doctor mentioned getting his tonsils out if it doesn't go away this time! He is so tough though because he just mentioned that his throat hurt when he swallowed on Thursday night. The nurse and doctor both cringed when they looked in his throat Friday morning. He is a trooper! Poor Landry, it took two people to hold her down and one person to give the shots. She was so afraid that she couldn't control herself. Braden got big alligator tears when she went to screaming and crying... have I ever mentioned his tender heart?

We toughed it out and went to an Easter Egg Hunt in Stephenville Friday night hosted by Harris hospital. It was their 1st annual hunt, and hopefully they'll make some adjustments for next year. I'm not trying to be ugly or anything, but it was sad for the kids' sake. Approximately half of the plastic eggs were empty! So Landry would drop them if they weren't filled. She came back with two eggs in her basket, and of course it was upsetting to her that Braden's basket was full. He was sweet enough to fill up her basket, but then we realized that many of the eggs were empty anyway! I was fine with it because it meant less of a fight when I was limiting how much candy they could eat, but they didn't understand!!

The kids have been playing outside over the past week. The weather has been so nice, and they don't seem to mind even when it's a little cool! Their new thing is cleaning. I had diluted some Windex the other day for Landry to use while I was cleaning the outside door. That took off into something totally entertaining for her. She has refilled that bottle (with water) a million times, and Braden is into it too. They each have their squirt bottle and a rag, and they have cleaned everything in the back yard and around the outside of the house. They are squirting down the fence, the grill, the fort, everything!! Who needs expensive toys, right?

Tripp is doing great. He is typically staying awake a little more in the mornings, but he still sleeps most of the day. He sleeps really good at night too, so I'm tempted to stretch his time between feedings at night. Then again, I think he's pretty little, so I'm just letting him wake up and eat when he needs to at night. It's usually 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. when he gets up, then he sleeps till about 7:30 or 8:00. I have no complaints because I'm getting good sleep for sure!

We have no travel plans for Spring Break. My friend Sara and her kids will come visit on Wednesday, and the Whites are coming over one day. Landry will probably play some with Lizzie, and Braden has tee ball practice. Nothing major, but that's how it needs to be with a new baby around!
