Birthday girl

Landry had a wonderful birthday. She loves it that she is finally 3. She had been struggling with showing people how old she is with her three fingers, so Jason taught her how to show 3 fingers like the "ok" sign. Now when you ask her how old she is, she doesn't even speak- she just holds up her new hand sign. We had a good party with family and a few of her little friends. In the picture: Braden, Landry, Kayli, and Jenna. Jason and I had to make an exception to our rule of having only one birthday party per kid per year. With some of my relatives here from Montana, I just didn't want to have that many people in the house at the same time. Therefore, Landry gets another party today at her Mimi's house! Doesn't the baby of the family always end up getting the special treatment?

For a health update, Landry had her follow-up appointment with the ENT Friday. She is clear of any bacteria in her ears, and the tubes looked great. She doesn't have to go back for another 6 months! So far, we have avoided the various flu and viral junk going around lately. Jason would attribute that to the all-powerful bovine colostrum!! Those of you who have heard his spill are probably laughing right now, but it does seem to work!

Braden is doing great. He is learning all about numbers at school, so we put numbers together at home. "Momma, What does 6 and 8 make?" He wants to hear 68, not 14 (I've tried to trick him). He stays busy shooting at targets with his BB gun, collecting sticks and rocks, and of course watching cartoons. I was getting his pants out of the laundry hamper the other day and dumped out at least a cup full of pebbles. Jason says, "he's just a boy!"

Landry's biggest interest right now is books. She wants me to read to her all the time. And she has pretty much memorized all of her favorite books. Of course she loves her babies, and she got a few new ones for her birthday. One is a hispanic cabbage patch named Luna! She still loves to sing, too. I love her version of Father Abraham: "Father Averham had any sons, and any sons had Father Averham..." She also loves for her daddy to sing "Sweet Home Alabama." So that's what is going on with the Karnes family lately. I'll have to update more often.
