Jason and I had a most wonderful 24 hours on a quick anniversary get-away. This Wednesday will be our 9th anniversary, so we had to celebrate early. We left Friday afternoon for White Bluff Resort in Whitney, TX. It was AWESOME!! We had a wonderful (and fancy) dinner Friday night at their Lighthouse Restaurant. We swam that evening and met an interesting couple from Oklahoma. Saturday morning we drank coffee on our balcony (dressed in the white robe from the hotel). Then we ate breakfast at the clubhouse and hit the links. We had a great time golfing together. Our highlight was the ninth hole, which was a par 3. Jason pitched his in for birdie and I made a birdie putt!! After the golf we swam again, then headed home! Sounds like a lot in 24 hours, huh?
The kids are doing well. Landry is a whining machine, frustrated by her will to be independent but her need for help. We've been calling her "Crash" because of her accident-prone ways! She is just hilarious, but she's also a mess. Today, we were having some fresh baked cookies. Three people looked neat, and one little girl was covered in chocolate. That comes after sitting in a plate of guacamole at lunch today! On pink pants it looked like she had a major poop accident!
Braden is good. He is quite proud of his ability to pick out his own clothes and get himself dressed. I spent about 45 minutes one day folding all the clothes in his closet floor from all his wardrobe changes! He is sounding like Forrest Gump to me lately. Sometimes his country bumpkin accent just makes me laugh!
Jason got me an arm band to hold my iPod (part of my anniversary gift). Yes, I'm still trying to run. I'm convinced that I can work through this. The doctor double my dose of anti-inflammatory medicine and said to pull out all my therapy tricks. "If that doesn't work, you should find a new hobby." Fine, then. That's all from the home front for now!
